Alberta Finance And Enterprise , Edmonton - The Industry Development Branch of Alberta Finance and Enterprise plays an important role in supporting Alberta's industry sectors, while setting out strategic direction for economic development in the province.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of the branch, you will be central to the efficient and effective operations of the branch as well as to the assembly and dissemination of industry information in support of department activities.
You will research, analyze, and make recommendations on policy and programs that address the competitiveness of Alberta's industry and economy. You will assist in the development and implementation of industry sector strategies and participate in a variety of industry sector initiatives including strategy development, market opportunity identification and the execution of industry related events.
As the central point of contact for the coordination of briefing and support materials for senior management, Deputy Minister, and Minister's office, you will assign requests appropriately, monitor timely delivery, and provide a comprehensive review to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
The successful candidate must have a strong working knowledge and understanding of the Alberta economy, including the interpretation of economic data. Excellent research and policy analysis skills are required for this position. Demonstrated marketing experience and the ability to be creative is an asset for the position. Superior communication skills, particularly written will be critical for success. Interpersonal relationship skills will be essential to work effectively in a dynamic team environment with both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications: A degree in a related field (Economics, Commerce) is required. Considerable years of progressively responsible related experience. A high degree of proficiency with MS Office application including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, the Internet and database manipulation.
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
